“Chester Bennington” this a name most of you are familiar with it. A lead singer of Band Linkin Park is no more with us. He died at the age of 41 on thursday 7/25/2017. This news has made everyone shocked and heartbroken.Chester Charles Bennington was born on March 20, 1976, in Phoenix, the youngest of four children. His mother was a nurse and his father a local police detective prone to pulling double shifts. Mr. Bennington described his childhood as unhappy, citing his parents’ divorce when he was 11 and frequent molestation by an older friend, beginning when Mr. Bennington was “about 7 or 8” and continuing until he was 13.
Chester joined the band in 1999 and with his amazing voice and songs he became household name the year after with the release of the band’s debut album Hybrid Theory, which was nominated for a Grammy award for best rock album. He gave us the most amazing songs.
Mr.Bennington also had a history of alcohol and drug abuse. He spoke openly in the past about his struggles to overcome his demons when Linkin Park first found fame in 2000 with their best-selling debut album “Hybrid Theory” and went on to become one of the most popular alt-rock bands of their generation.
Chester Bennington, who was known for his piercing scream and free-flowing anguish, has released seven albums with his band Linkin Park. The most recent, “One More Light,” was released in May and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart. The band was scheduled to start a tour with a concert on July 27 in Mansfield, Mass.
Linkin Park became one of the most popular bands of the new millennium because of their genre blending and pop polish, but to listen to that debut single is to remember that they were also differentiated by a core of raw, convincing pain. It almost entirely came from Bennington. He was arguably the purest font of angst—and inarguably one of the most powerful male voices—in mainstream music since 2000.
Today, Chester Bennington is no more with us. All we can do now is pray for his soul. It’s still shocking for me. Growing up All i ever listened to was linkin park. RIP Chester Bennington. We love you and you will always be remembered as a legend of singing.
