1. Suryabinayak to Ranikot Hiking
Ranikot hill is a beautiful hilltop to enjoy the view of the Bhaktapur city. It is located in the southern part of Bhaktapur district and is 7 km from Suryabinayak Temple. The splendid view of the valley, serene environment, sunrise, sunset and the panoramic view of the Himalayas extending from the Everest range in the east to the Annapurna range in the west are the characteristics that attract the visitors to this place.
2. Lakuri Bhanjyang Hiking
Lakuri Bhanjyang ,its a paradise located 13 km up from the Gwarkho, Lalitpur. It is one of the most scenic spot in lalitpur district and is renowned for its spectacular sunrise view and the himalaya ranges when the weather is clear. From Lakuri Bhanjyang we can see the magestic view of the Kathmandu Valley.
3. Sankhu to Bhotechaur Hiking
Bhotechaur is a mountainous farming region north east of Kathmandu. Hiking from Sankhu to Bhotechaur takes around 2 hrs. It is an ideal place for those who wants to experience the tea farm, similar to Illam in Nepal.
4. Chitlang Hiking
Chitlang is 22 km in the southern direction from Kathmandu Valley. Start hiking from Thankot to Chitlang will take around 3 hours. Chitlang is surrounded by beautiful green forest, which consists of more than 160 species of birds and animal. The large green fields are added attraction of Chitlang. There is a big Apple garden with more than thousand apple trees. Few cottages have been constructed recently in between the garden.
5. Nagarkot to Changunarayan Hiking
It will take about 4 hrs to reach Changunarayan,the oldest pagoda style Hindu temple in Nepal from Nagarkot. he trip introduces Nepal’s natural and cultural heritages. The great amazing thing is to see how the local villages along the trail still exhibit countryside lifestyle even though being so close to city.
6. Shivapuri Hiking
Shivapuri situated at an altitude of 2563m north of Kathmandu is second highest hill around Kathmandu valley. It is 8kms north of Kathmandu. This is the Government protected forest where over 500 species are found. Also it is famous for cycling a or the bird watching and Jungle walk.
7. Nagarjuna Hiking
Nagarjuna hill is located north-west of Kathmandu it takes 15 minutes by car than 2 and half hours up to the Nagarjuna hill, which is also called historical Jamacho Peak (6,300 feet). From top of hill you can see the mountain range and Kathmandu valley in a clear day.
8. Pharping Champadevi Hiking
Champadevi hill (2285m.) is a pilgrimage site itself having Buddhist Stupa and Hindu Shrine on the top. Walking through the lush pine forest on well develop trail is really wonderful experience. Superb view of Langtang, Gauri Shankar, Jugal, Dorge Lakpa Himalayas are the major attraction of the hiking. This hiking tour starts in the morning after an hour drive to Pharping village on the way to celebrated Dakshinkali Temple. It takes around 2 hrs to reach on top of ridge.
9. Phulchowki Hiking
Phulchowki (2782m) is the highest hill situated in the south of Kathmandu valley. This is one of the most beautiful hiking in terms of vegetation in Kathmandu valley. Hiking gradually started from Godavari uphill all the way through sub – tropical thick forest for about four hours. The magnificent view from eastern part of Annapurna range to Gaurishanker in the east can be seen from here on a clear day. It also provide Breathtaking view of Kathmandu valley in a clear day.
10. Dhulikhel to Namobuddha Hiking
Namo Buudda is an ancient and famous Buddhist monastery in Nepal situation at 1750 meters. Namoboudha situated at the hill top of Panauti. Its takes 4 hrs day trip to Namobuddha. The main attractions of this hike are the panoramic mountain views and many Buddhist stupas on the hilltop. Namo Budhha is also famous for rice, mustard and millet; so you can also experience the beautiful hillside terraced farms throughout the walk. You’ll also be surprised by the number of temples, variations in landscapes and diversity of people living in harmony.
11. Nagarkot to Dhulikhel Hiking
Nagarkot is a hill station to see the great mountain profile situated above 2100 meter. We have time to see all the glistering peaks, sunrise and sunset. Nagarkot to Dhulikhel hiking is about 16 km and it takes approx. 4 to 6 hrs. The Newar town of Dhulikhlel offers a traditional atmosphere along with spectacular views of the Himalayan range – with views of peaks like Dorje Lakpa ( 6966 m), Gauri Shankar ( 7,145 m) and Langtang ( 7,324 m).
